Vidadi Zalov was born on 17 July 1985 in the town of Saray in the Absheron district, as the only son of Nizami Zalov, who was formerly the director of the Soviet Union there. In 1992-2003, he received his secondary education at the 2nd full secondary school in Absheron Rayon Saray district named after Azim Müzaffərov. It was accepted to Azerbaijan State Economic University in 2003. He graduated from the Faculty of Finance of Hamin University in 2007. He had a family, his son named Nizami and his daughter named Humay remained as heirlooms.

After completing his education, Vidadi Zalov was called to military service by the Absheron rayon branch of the State Service on Mobilization and Call to Military Service. Based on the call, he served in the ranks of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, in one of the combat stocks numbered "N", for a period of 1 year. After completing his military service, he carried out civil activities for a while. Then, he was enrolled in the "Real Military Service" courses of the Ministry of Defense, and after completing the courses, he was enrolled in the army ranks such as the "Real Military Service" courses. He served in four close Specially Designated Forces. He was rewarded with several decrees and certificates of thanks by the military personnel, as the period of military service differed, on the 26th month of 2018. He was awarded the "100 Years of the Azerbaijani Army (1918–2018)" Jubilee Medal by the Minister of Defense Zakir Hasnov.

Vidadi Zalov, a junior sergeant of the Azerbaijani Army, was appointed to the liberation of the lands occupied by Armenia by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from the 27th of 2020 and the reconciliation of the entire territory of Azerbaijan. He participated in the Battle of Homeland, which was started for the war. He fought in the fights for the freedom of his people and became distinguished.

According to the President of Azerbaijan İlham Aliyev, dated 24.06.2021, he demonstrated his personal determination and supplication by participating in the fighting operations for the liberation of the Lachin region of Azerbaijan from occupation. For his participation in the Civil War, Vidadi Zalov was awarded the "Participant in the Civil War" medal by Chief Minister Eli Asadov.

After the end of the war, Vidadi Zalov, who was rewarded with several medals, was enrolled in the "Secret Service Course" and after completing the course successfully, he was promoted from the rank of "petty sergeant" to the rank of "secretary". It continued its military service in one of the "N" numbered war stocks located in the Lachin region, in the Azerbaijan-Armenia border.

On 11 April 2023, the divisions of the Armed Forces of Armenia were settled in the direction of the Lachin district of the Azerbaijani Army, from the positions of the Gorus region settled in the direction of the foreign life style. The soldiers subjected their positions to intensive fire from sniper weapons. As a result of the damage carried out by the opposing side, combatants of the Azerbaijani Army were martyred and injured. As a result of the resistance that started, Vidadi Zalov was martyred during the execution of the fight. Vidadi Zalov's birth was brought to his house and he was buried on 12 April 2023 in the town of Saray in the Absheron district, where he was born. Vidadi Zalov's family members, relatives, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Executive Judge of Absheron Rayon also attended the burial ceremony.
